Kali came forth from the flickering fluorescent of the underground with an unassuming stride, the small click and drag of her heels on the pavement muted as the echo of the stair hall faded. The escapeway's urban halo dimmed with distance, but in a sense of poetic injustice to all other darkness, she seemed to pull some of that glow with her- it hung heavy on her clothes, in her hair, to the stark of her skin. But all aside, there was so little mystery to a fresh-faced girl, all grown up but for a kiss of youth on her lips.
Her figure flashed in the dim when she tightened her leather jacket's grasp on her, flashing her hands like signal lights to smooth her hair around her pride-and-joy Chanel sunglasses where they were nestled on top of her head before flashing them back to her pockets, where they hid from the city. In all honesty, the jacket was heavy on her, the black thing with its gleaming silver buttons and its secret pockets, but somehow she loved it anyway.
She'd just gotten off of the train; having a tendency to ride the rails at night when she was bored. And scared. And lonely. These were all common emotions. Still, she expected it was be as easy as any other night to get home. Kali just didn't realize exactly how much she was cheating fate every time she completed that trip. So, yes - she was immortal. But part of her felt like it was a lie. She could still experience death, pain...you only got so many free passes for absentmindedness in unlife. Tonight was certainly a wild card and whether that was for better or worse she didn't want to assume. It was just one more evening in RavenBlack. Maybe Hunters would clue onto her as they often did, maybe she'd get into a fight with another Vampire...who knew!?
Each moment was as unexpected as the next. As she walked slowly away from the Underground entrance she couldn't help but wonder what she'd encounter that night. If anything.

He wasn't following her; no, he had simply come across her scent. It was only that which had led him to her. She had that unique taste to her. It's hard to explain though and truly not something anyone would understand unless they were what he truly was; some bestial creature that lost all footing with humanity during his change. As for now? He had that semblance of a heightened sense; his smell, taste, hearing and sight, and even his feeling.
He could taste Kali upon his tongue even from afar. He could taste her as much as he could taste the city's urban wasteland; full of gasoline, blood and pollution. So, maybe he shouldn't have come to her? Yet, he couldn't resist; not on a night like this. It's a night where everyone's seemingly far away and asleep, and that small span of time where the streets seem empty but for the scurrying within the dumpsters and the soft breathing of "hunters" on the street corners.
It was truly different though to come across her without Tarquin. Although that's not to say that the two were connected at the hip. It's simply making note of the fact that the last time he had been with Kali...well, Tarquin had been there; the diner, of course. Would that leave them as friends by association then or perhaps even more so? They had somewhat in common, right? Perhaps not. Perhaps Moore was grasping at strings as he caught up to her.
Perhaps she'd find her hackles on end at the sound of his shoes slapping against the sidewalk. He had picked up his pace to a trot then and had been coming up close behind her during that moment. Would she have been ready to strike him? Perhaps. Some vampires seemed to be the edgy sort especially toward his own kind. It could have been considered some horrid sitcom though, really; especially considering the reasons why they didn't find eachother tolerable.
"Kali!"
His distinct timbre no doubt recognizable with that Scottish brogue of his. He breathes out heavily by the time he catches up to her side and offers a breathless smile of sorts. His hands stuff within his pockets then. His head lolls back then as his eyes flit over the buildings all around them only to finally fall upon her once more. She looked much like as he remembered her from that first night with Tarquin. So, at least there were no surprises, right?
"Maybe you shouldn't be sauntering along by your lonesome, eh? Never know what sort of peculiar fellows may come out and about," he says simply with a sly grin. Moore knew she didn't need protection though. At least not from some human who thought to mug her that would be awfully reminiscent to the near-robbery within the diner with Tarquin.
"I saw you back there," he says with a toss of his head, but such a thing was a lie. He smelled her back there, yes, but saw? No, not really. Still, Moore was here now and there truly was no turning back. He had a feeling about the moment though. Good? Perhaps. Bad...? He wasn't sure. Moore seemed to have a streak with the terrible. Mayhap coming across Kali would change that...Hell, or maybe he'd end up nearly shot again? [/blockquote]

A whisper of evening air breathing down Kali's spine brought forth her hands from her pockets to pull up her collar; she was progressing into a chill as the night fell around her. The sun was already sheathed. Its mocking warmth was well-gone behind darkness' lush velvet curtains and her pulse was quickening from the comforted lull of walking hypnosis.
A voice, thick and sweet like caramel, cut the cloth from around her, calling forth her conscious eyes. 'Kali!'
Her eyes wrestled through darkness, pulled clear from her as her haze lifted like smoke to the smoggy sky. They caught on one Julian Moore; whom she had met on a previous night alongside Tarquin. She registered a half-beat late that he'd actually spoken to her. Being as surprisingly verbose as she was, she smiled warmly at him with a curt and heartfelt "Well, hello there," Unfortunately, her slight social ineptitude was either strongly endearing or a strong turn-off, and only a lucky few met her in the circumstances to meet a Kali who'd rather cut the shit and get down to business. In that manner she set her eyes on Julian, quirking her head to the side as he spoke.
She didn't want to admit it aloud, but he did have a point. There were plenty of immortals stronger than her in the City, one in particular who hated her purely because of her bloodline. She was usually particularily good at avoiding him, recognizing his scent from so far away, but there might well be a time when she wasn't so lucky. In a way that was why she enjoyed Tarquin's company; he was really her first male friend that actually stuck around. It was like being protected; although not directly so. "Actually I pretty much do this every night, as pathetically lonely as that seems. But I do know what you mean,"
She ran a hand through her hair, listening as he spoke again before laughing somewhat in response. "Saw me, eh? That's odd, people don't normally notice me unless they're family or want to kill me,"

So, she did this often; in fact, she did this every night. It sounded like him. Except Moore stood with the back alleys of the city where the fights were held; old fashioned bare-knuckle boxing with gamblers tightening their fists around their wads of cash and barking at the tops of their lungs.
The truth was, was that Moore had always been somewhat of a night owl even before the change. It's how he got things done when he had been young - before all the fame and legal matches he had taken part of. Oh, but that had been so long ago! It felt as if that life had belonged to another person entirely; in fact, Moore wasn't even sure if he was the same person any more. He was more brash, crude and others wouldn't hesitate to say that he was quite the bastard toward them. As for Kali and Tarquin? They were the exceptions, but everyone else took such from him; took that gruff voice and growl. He didn't take shit. He did what he could to keep pushing.
He lived his life to the fullest. If one could consider his current lifestyle the fullest. I truly wasn't that grand and most fellows - even himself - would say that he had taken quite the step back. It wasn't long until Moore was chuckling and quickly giving a shake of his head to dismiss her words.
"Well, luckily for you, I'm not here to kill you, nor am I your family," he trails then and seems somewhat thoughtful. Family wouldn't be so bad, no? At least for her. Maybe she'd prefer a stranger like him though; a friend. Was he that to her? Perhaps she didn't think so.
"Nor are you alone. At least not now," he says with a gleam of amusement within those blue eyes of his. "So, mayhap you aren't lonely anymore, or so I hope my presence will grace upon you well enough," he says simply and bites his lower lip. His eyes flit over her face and over the line of her form. She's a pretty thing all around. She belonged to Tarquin though, right?
"Where are you heading anyway?" He couldn't help but ask. Was she heading home? Or was she seeking out trouble out within this unsettled city full of creatures scurrying at every corner? Either way, Julian Moore was here for her and he didn't plan on leaving her side any time soon. [/blockquote]

Admitting to Julian that she spent most nights alone was a low blow to Kali's belief in herself. It just sounded so...lame. She'd never said it aloud before, never really contemplated what it meant. And she wasn't a lame person, not really. She had the same deceptively-innocent-but-really-rather-witty type persona that she had always had, even in mortality. She always had the same wicked grin on her face, those two feet planted stubbornly to the ground, and that same air around her of regrettable solitude. What was really surreal about her, the half-reluctant bloodsucker, is that she seemed untouched in entirety, as if she and the world were seperates from one another.
Her mind thrived on dreams; mostly of things she could never have. She wanted to wear white at her wedding. She wanted to be a wife. A mother. She wanted to grow old and die with that man she stood next to at that alter, all swathed in white and he in black. She wanted these five things that she couldn't ever have and more. They were all outside of her grasp. Such was the disadvantage of Vampirism. Things were...ever so different now.
When Julian had finished speaking Kali smiled. He was a genuinly nice guy, it was strange. Most males in the city were crass and downright annoying. But she didn't get that feeling with him at all. Even when she did notice him staring at her.
"Honestly? I'm glad for some company for a change. It does get boring wandering around on my own all the time. As for where I'm heading? Nowhere really. Not many places to go and frankly I'm outside in the hopes I'll bump into somebody, or be part of something amazing. Do you know what I mean? I guess I'm just looking for something exciting, and that doesn't come easily upon me in this city,"
She paused.
"Okay, your turn. Where were you heading?"

Perhaps they were more alike than he had initially thought? Kali seemed to seeking something - anything - to occupy her time. It's why she's wandering the city alone at this time with nothing in mind. Oh, sweet woman. She brought to mind something someone had said at one point: the best way to get to somewhere unknown is to get lost. Was she lost now? Hardly, he was sure; at least not literally, but mentally? Perhaps. Perhaps she was seeking some semblance of excitement. She had practically said that only a few moments ago!
So, maybe that's why Julian was smiling at her when she questions him of the same. Maybe that's why his eyes were so warm with amusement at that situation, and maybe that's why he didn't answer her right away and instead spoke about her instead. Maybe that's why...
Maybe, maybe, maybe...
"A pretty one like yourself finding it hard to come across something exciting? I'm half surprised no men have been grovelling at your feet yet!" He states with a sly grin. He truly was surprised though and for good reason. In fact, he had thought Kali would have been busy elsewhere with Tarquin; having thought the two attached to the hip. Perhaps there was more to Kali than he had originally thought though? Oh, yes, that could be it.
"Home," he states and then. "No...No, not really," he breathes out and shakes his head quickly. "Truth be told, Kali. I'm much the same way as you; wandering down dark streets and looking for something exciting." It felt like home already. It felt like his old life: purposefully wandering down darkened alleys and daring someone to do something. There are too many things a man could do when they realize they're not made of glass; that they won't shatter at the softest touch.
"So, I couldn't resist when I found you, Kali. I suppose this means we'll be together for night then, no? Perhaps we can find something to occupy ourselves?" He asks of her with one brow raising and teeth bearing down upon his lower lip. His blue gaze shifts from her face and to the front of them.
Perhaps they should have been more careful? This city wasn't the safest. You weren't going to place this one on top for your most wanted places for your children to grow up. It was nearly as bad as New York City's Harlem during "Nicky" Barnes' escapades, or even the Bronx within that Industrial Age; drug runners becoming something of the norm. So, yes, why should they be surprised at the sound of a blade being flicked open or the sound of a number of voices demanding them to come to a stop? Why should they be surprised to be faced with one-two-three-four-five...Yes, five men! They always seemed to travel within packs; one having to prove to the other that they could do something. Could this be the excitement they were looking for as Moore's head gave a quick shake and his mouth became a scowl.
"Money." "Jewelry." "Watch." "Give me everything!"
This wasn't the safest city, but not due to some wayward folks as these wannabe gangsters were. [/blockquote]

There was certainly no mistaking the look on Kali's face for anything other than surprise. It was a humbling and all too real sensation. Fortunately she never got to the chance to respond to his comment about men, he chose to respond to her question instead. A part of her was thankful, having so rarely received compliments in her past Kali had never quite known how to respond to them. She was awkward and tended to say something silly or else she would ignore the comment altogether because she didn't know what to say. She shoved one hand into her jacket pocket and felt two familiar objects.
Lighter. Cigarettes.
She wasn't supposed to be smoking. She quit ages ago. Supposed to have left it all behind. She glowered somewhat and moved her hand away again - leaving the aforementioned items hidden. The damn things had helped her cope before, when the evening was near, and she wanted to hunt--she used to chain-smoke like no tomorrow. Disgusting. It just became a habit, she supposed. Something comforting, but not because of an addiction; it was all to do with familiarity. Seeing the smoke drift unpoetically around her head, feeling it in her mouth and knowing that soon it would be cast away in place of another.
Now was not the time to give into something so trivial though. And if she were honest it was a tad embarrassing too.
'Perhaps we can find something to occupy ourselves?'
Hearing Julian's next words had Kali laughing quietly to herself. Yes. She supposed they should, and maybe-
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden invasion of her senses. Five Men. It was only a few seconds later, when she heard one of them call something out that she even knew what was happening. Oh, the misfortune of her poor self, having wandered wrongly. She always got so...tempremental when such things occurred. Her smile, still left over from her talk with Julian grew stony at the corners, safeguarding Kali from the snide remark she wants to let loose. A quiet thing she seemed to most people, perhaps even weak...but she knew well enough that these men were signing their death warrants with the glazed looks they supplied to her. What one of them had said was of no concern- the vampiress' proximity was unsettling, and her intentions cleared like settling water.

"I'm beginning to think that you and Quin are awfully bad luck," Moore states firmly when they were both stopped; flanked upon either side. They were given wild smiles and even wilder looks. Some were eager to brandish their blades whilst others simply kept watch upon the street and eyed them; assuring their fellows that these two weren't going to be running anywhere.
They were surrounded now but little did the men know who they were up against. Moore didn't know much about Kali but if she was anything like Tarquin then they'd fine albeit Moore was sure he'd be fine as well within the first place. He was simply hoping to come out of this unscatched. He wasn't like the vampires of course. He still came out with scars; his body still marred with somewhat of them. His mouth purses then as his eyes narrow.
"What are you waiting for?" It seems the one who had spoken out first had been the most impatient with the two. As for why? It's more than obvious that he hadn't done this too often. If any time at all. "Give me your shit!" He snarls and drawls closer only to think otherwise.
"Jay. Go. Run his pockets!"
"Something tells me this may get a bit dirty too quickly," Moore murmurs with a pitched voice more for Kali's ears than anyone else's. Another lad was drawing closer to Moore albeit slowly as Moore lifts his hands. "Any time, sunshine," Moore states with a grunt and scowl. Yet, still, the lad seemed reluctantly and looking from their leader to Moore and then to Kali.
"Now," Moore suddenly begins; no doubt drawing attention as he looks from Kali and to the others - especially the one who was drawing closer to run his pockets. "Are you sure you wish to do this?" Moore asks of them before attempting to contain his smile. Maybe he did like this. Maybe he'd keep Kali and Tarquin around after all. Bad luck? Talk about more fun than ever.
"Wipe that smile off your smile! Mike, grab her stuff!" Their oh, so fearless leader barks. As for this lad? He had a bit more spirit to him and came quickly to Kali with his knife held aloft as his hand sought for her and as for Moore's? He came close only for Moore to sigh heavily and look to Kali for that cue out of the corner of his eyes. He waited for her then to make the first move.
Moore would be more than quick enough to keep up.

The man coming close to her with a knife could barely be called a man at all. He was young, fresh-faced and clearly out of his depth. Just look at him. He didn't belong there. He was unscarred by both blade and time, too perfect. He was not one of these stone soldiers, one of the poised hell hounds. So young, so soft...
"Oh God....," The blood lust had already enveloped her.
In a matter of seconds Kali was upon him, tired breath, a faint tinge of metallic fear.Oh! And the unmistakable rush and murmur of the veins, thick with beverage and nourishment. Her ears pricked at the sound. An uneven tha-thum of a heart. A human heart. Curiosity was futile for Kali. Ask no questions. Bow to your instinct. The irony of fear radiated from his heat, his beautiful body, tingling her taste buds so finely. So adorably delicious to such waning eyes. Human men cannot comprehend vampiric beauty. It frightens with charm and suave, but simultaneously seduces with it. His cry made her stop. She hadn't taken him to the point of death; she couldn't do it. At least now he was disabled...Kali knew there were others to deal with.
The whole thing was over in seconds, and as she stood up she felt a twinge of guilt. Her instinct was uncontrollable at the best of times. When she wanted a mortal she had to have them. If she didn't she'd lose all control; able to see herself during the hunt but unable to stop it. It was as if a whole other being took over her body; all in the pursuit of blood.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw another of the men running at her; watching his chances fall as the clock would have ticked in that near silence. Something a lot of people didn't know about Kali was that she was prone to bar brawls. Her own fault of course, and in reality all deliberately caused by her anyway...but some nights, after too much to drink she just wanted to beat something up. And the fact was, she never used her Vampiric power when she did this. Having so much 'recreational' practice meant that when she got into situations like these it was generally easy to get out of them. Especially with someone else by her side. Kind of like tag-team wrestling, only without all the shiny lights and screaming fans.
...Although that would have been cool.
Shaking herself out of her thoughts, Kali narrowly avoided a knife in the arm from her opponent.
"Gah! Pay attention, Kali!" She spoke through gritted teeth as she aimed a punch at the man, intending to get him in the stomach. Unfortunately for him however, he chose to move in the wrong direction - her fist ended up in his face. There was a definitive cracking noise. Another punch later (this time in the intended place) and he was on the floor. Kali only smiled triumphantly...

Julian Moore had to confess that he was hardly privy to the acts of what a vampire did to feed. You see, werewolves did things different, and Moore alone was quite a different character altogether; all rough edges, nonchalant demeanor and a easy way of being. He fed like some bestial creature with utter need and arousal when the time was needed; with violence. As for Kali? She looked like she had been overtaken with heat; like some mewling cat presenting herself. Except this was much less graceful albeit cats coupling was anything but.
So, when Kali went for the takedown there truly was no surprise that all eyes were upon her; them. It's then the one nearest Moore went for his throat. It's a shame he didn't know what he was getting himself into though, truly. One shouldn't square off with a former undefeated boxer. Why? Simply because of the fact you won't win; no matter what you do.
That lad was laced up within seconds; nose spurting and the life slipping out of him like someone had flicked a switch. He fell forward and Moore bounced back upon the toes of his feet; fists held aloft as a dull thump fills air when he meets the cold ground. There were gasps rippling through the small throng of men then as they all leaped forward to help their comrades or even attempt at dealing some semblance of damage. It was all in vain though; they'd fail.
Luckily Kali seemed to know some semblance of physical defense; she taking care of herself with ease. As for Moore? Well, his defense was an even more violent offense; throwing wide haymakers and hooks that left the men collapsing within moments when they came to close proximity with him. It was almost sad, truly; them leaving these men upon the ground snorting blood and choking upon such whilst others stare wide eyed up at them. Moore was quick to set his foot upon the ring leader's chest though; pressing down hard to keep him pinned.
"Now, I think you owe us an apology, or at least her," he tosses his head toward Kali. "Oh, and maybe you'd like to pay us for a nice cup of coffee, eh?" He asks with one hand offered to accept any bills. He wasn't quite a fan of mugging people, but now this lad was going to get what was coming to him, and mayhap he'd even learn a thing or two from this. It's then the man looks from Moore to Kali and soon back before reaching reluctantly into his pocket; Moore snatches up such quickly before the man could even fish out any bills.
"You really shouldn't go around trying to steal from people though. Wouldn't you say the same, sweetheart?" Moore asks of Kali without looking at her; fingertips sifting through this man's wallet. There wasn't much, really. "You know, working honest and good can get you somewhere. Now you'd have a medical bill to pay for," he states with a toss of his head toward the other men who were hurt; more their pride, and oh, their noses as well. He slips out a bill from the man's wallet before dropping such to the man's chest and lifting his foot then.
"Are we done here?" He asks of Kali before showing that five dollar bill - seemingly the only thing of worth - that had been pilfered from the man's wallet. It was a trophy of sorts and will go toward whatever they two decided to do after this brief skirmish. Certainly they would be done though. If they stood any longer...well, then there would hardly be anything left of these young men.

It was...it was sweet. Ecstasy. Joy. Hatred.
So many things it was almost intoxicating. So many emotions bundled up into one small area that fresh air seemed to be lost...with the swoon of blood lust still apparent in her mind, Kali lost herself in the fight. Although she was still a lady about it all; perhaps not serene, but certainly there was a sharp femininity to her movements.
And by "a lady" what is meant explicitly is that Kali could manage to creep upon people like a vine without giving the impression of one who creeps. She unashamedly threw a fist at the next man to approach her, watching out of the corner of her eye to see how Julian was doing. She saw in him a style of fighting that was clearly practiced a lot, a fine skill that had been developed over time and was now something worthy of admiration. But there was no time to waste thinking, while Kali considered herself a lover and not a fighter, she wouldn't put it past herself to take the latter a bit too seriously when the moment came.
She disabled this attacker with a twist of the arm and a kick where it hurts, finished off for the sake of it with a kick in the back as the man lay sprawled on the floor.
Looking up, Kali saw with amusement that all of the men were on the floor. She turned her attention to Julian with a smirk, walking over to him and the man he had pinned to the ground; it was hard not to laugh at the expression on his face. Going through his wallet when the guy was still alive? She'd have never thought of such a thing. It was hilarious; and perhaps a little ironic considering what he had originally planned to do to them...
"Oh, I couldn't agree more," She grinned as she replied to Julian "...Let's get out of here,"

It was a strange moment then and quite unexplainable; truly, one had to be there to understand what the two had gone through. There's a semblance of trust and respect earned when shedding blood at each other's side albeit not your own blood. It's what gave them that...well, an "oomph" of sorts with their current standing relation toward one another. It's what Julian Moore things at the very least. His mouth twists with a hard smile as he stares down upon the man still under his weight and his attention - wholly undivided - turns upon Kali Le Fai Myst; a woman with a peculiar name but a pretty face to match such. He wouldn't forget her any time soon.
They left then after Kali's agreement. It was a sure thing and done with utter ease; grace, even, or so one could argue. Julian's slipping away that five dollar bill before turning his back to that whimpering man, and without even a word, he slips his arm across Kali's shoulders to steer her away. His touch was surprisingly gentle albeit firm enough to make his intent more than obvious. He waited until they were out of ear shot before gloating about - not his own prowress - but Kali's; speaking with an open mouth and mirth dancing in those blue eyes of his.
"Where'd you learn to move like that? You moved like a woman possessed. I must confess that I am shocked and pleasantly surprised!" It's all he could truly say about her motions; how graceful and natural each step had looked. She had nearly practiced then but then again who was saying that she wasn't? A vampire had to feed; especially more so a growing woman such as herself. He still held her close to his whether or not she liked that or not. She still had the opportunity to pry herself free though. Luckily for her Moore wasn't exactly tacking her upon his shirt and carrying her about but he surely was gallivanting and pleased with what had happened. He truly had the excitement of a young man that belied his more than obvious age.
It's almost hard to admit that they had nearly been mugged.
Except they hadn't exactly been nearly anything. If anything those men didn't know what hit them. Kali and Julian both had been quite the outstanding force; unstoppable, really. He's all laughter and wide grins. He looks more than eager to spend their loot then and there, and mayhap even do much else. They had to celebrate, no? Strange to be celebrating over blood.
"We should carouse; drink to our health," he breathes out; turning his face to look down upon her. Her scent catches upon him. Oh, she smells wonderful with the lingering smell of blood about her. He could catch the faint gleam of blood upon her lips. Mayhap that was simply the play of the light though. A ploy of his mind or not though, such a thing made him ache and hunger for her touch and taste. Ah! He'd have to brace himself against the bestial side of himself. He couldn't loose himself here much less to her. He didn't want to hurt despite God knowing he'd love to; rather, his base instincts longed for such. It's then that his hand lifts to pinch a lock of her hair between forefinger and thumb; stroking gently as they walked.
"To drink or not to drink," he breathes out; breath catching within his throat.
Whether or not he was talking about her was not said.

Kali smiled to herself as the two walked away from the mess they left behind them. Sparing one last look at the now incapacitated men, she couldn't help but think; 'Good luck with getting over this anytime soon,'. Because really, they weren't in amazing condition at this point. Not that they didn't deserve it.
'The work of a woman,', she thought, immaculate (yet unmanicured) fingers flexing languorously, 'was never done.'
Her attention drifted a few moments later, concentrated deeply on the man with her. A few steps from him diminished the space between them like a puff of air, until Kali realized that he had his arm round her shoulders. If she had really wanted she could have pulled away from him, re-establishing the distance that was once there. But in truth, she didn't want to. She never would have admitted it, but Kali very much enjoyed physical contact with other people. In whatever manner it was presented, it didn't matter...it made her feel closer to the person...and certainly less awkward. So, she didn't pull away from Moore; instead choosing to lean closer in somewhat as his words filled her mind.
Not used to receiving compliments, Kali couldn't help but blush slightly as she listened to what he had to say.
"I guess you can say I've had lots of practice in the past," She paused. "However, I do believe I'm not the only one. Are you professional or something?"
Moore's laughing and grinning had Kali at it too, she couldn't help it. What had just happened to them was both funny and odd. What had started off as a pathetic attempt to mug them had turned into a fist-fight; with the two of them coming out as the victors. But what else could possibly be expected? Humans had no chance against creatures like them, they should have known better.
Kali had felt like this evening (one of her best in a long time, she believed) was a lucky one. Moore coming across her was truly advantageous; she was ridiculously happy that it had happened. She wasn't alone and bored as usual; she was in good company and likewise, in a good mood.
Looking up into Julian's eyes; she thought she recognized something. A strong emotion that she couldn't pin-point but was certain she had experienced herself. She was tempted to ask what he was looking at when he spoke himself. After a moment of quiet musing to herself she smirked and nodded up at him; "Drink,"

"Boxer," he answers her quickly and rather simply. There was no beating around the bush with him, nor even a semblance of gloating. He was quick to the point and now she knew his profession. He had been a man with lethal hands at one point. Oh, and no, you can't register your fists as weapons albeit Moore had never tried. It's more than obvious that that was simply some lewd jest and not much else. Still, Moore seemed more than proud of the fact of what he was, or rather, had been.
"It's been a while though..." Moore confesses before trailing off. "Do you remember the night we met? That night Quin and I did something much like this," he pauses; "well, not exactly," he breathes out. "It wasn't like this." It's all he could truly say. There truly was nothing that could be like this; fighting beside one another. It wasn't the feeling of knowing someone had your back that left you feeling exhilerating but the fact that you had theirs albeit Kali needed no saving.
Then all laughter and wide grins were becoming somewhat stifled; swathed beneath the heavy blanket of need and utter passion. Oh, yes, his eyes were alight and fiery! She was giving him the world then and mayhap she shouldn't. She should be more careful with what permission she'd give to him. Would she truly let him feed? He could feel himself already beginning to salivate and his groin churning with blood; heat rushing throughout his flesh. He's alive.
He could feel the urge rising within his throat and the heat of his bestial side. Ah, God! He could give in now. He could take her within a nearby alley and smother her with the heat of his body. He could grab her hands and pin them above her head and hold her still with his chest crushing over her breasts as his mouth works her throat. He could feast upon her flesh and feel her give away underneath him; he could hurt her. He wanted to terribly so.
His fingertips release that soft lock of hair as she looks up into his own eyes. What did she see then? He could only wonder then. She didn't seem afraid; oh, no, she seemed to be musing, even. Perhaps she was amused by the entirety of the situation? Perhaps she truly didn't mind. Perhaps wanted such a thing as he did. His breath hitches and his nostrils savor her scent. Part of him wondered whether or not Tarquin would round the next corner with authority and passion within his eyes. Would Moore be challenged to the right? Mayhap. Perhaps not though.
All of Moore's motions were wolfish by nature from the motion of his face and the way his nose brushes against Kali's cheek and lower to the line of her jaw, and lower then, to the arch of her neck. He could find no trace of Tarquin upon her naked skin but her alone was intoxicating to behold, truly! Yet, still they walked albeit slowly now and with Moore pressing closer against the line of her body; she's soft as compared to the muscle of his own form.
Would she speak otherwise now? Would she push him away and deny him? His mouth lingers close to her pulse. He wanted to feel her flesh beneath his suckling mouth and crushing beneath his maw; he wanted to feast upon her whilst her body quakes beneath his own.
"Do you have no shame?" He asks of her albeit playfully; his voice but a murmur and that Scottish brogue thick and husky. Did he have any? They were out here now still walking albeit slowly and nearly at a stand still. They'd look like lovers lusting for one another with every ounce of eagerness except Moore wasn't tearing at her clothing, yet. He's smiling now though with his face tipping and nose nudging at the underside of her chin; he's nearly enveloping her within his embrace and his mouth presses close to the arch of her neck. Oh, so intoxicating! He felt so heady.
"Kali," he utters her name.

He was a Boxer. So she had been correct in her assumption; at least to some degree. It made Julian seem all the more intriguing; she was fascinated by men who fought others as a profession, and more importantly what motivated them to do it. Had Kali not been a Vampire she would have fancied having a go, if only for the novelty of it...
Do you remember the night we met?
Ah yes. In the cafe...that had certainly proved to be an interesting evening.
Even if it was a far cry from this particular night. Especially now that Kali was beginning to notice a change in Julian's behavior. Her heart went all a-flutter as the subtle rings of her hazel eyes searched his face with delicate curiosity and some little apprehension. She was, after all, a woman unprotected in this wretched city, and he was a man and no doubt a lot stronger and she really needed to get her thoughts under control and stop rambling to herself before he wondered why she wasn't saying anything...
Wow.
It was both a lovely and fearful thing to be captured by her own feelings, and perhaps even some of his. The close proximity made her feel as if they were the same person; and she wasn't sure but perhaps they were both experiencing the same thing at that moment in time. The nature of his motions had Kali's attention all on him and nothing else around them; she wasn't used to being looked at that in such a way. It was exactly how she looked at the mortals she was going to feed from, a fiery, passionate form of blood lust that at times could become uncontrollable.
She found herself looking back at Julian in exactly the same way. A quiet inhalation of air brushed past her lips, hushed and fair; it was with some amazement (and some little apprehension), that she responded to the touch of his skin against her own.
He seemed to want something from her, the bestial side of him making it seem more like a demand than a request. And her body, like the traitor it was, answered that demand as if she were, in fact, his possession. For a while the world narrowed to breathing and not being able to breathe. Between the intervals of the latter, it was quite obvious that she trusted Julian enough to let him do as he wished. Grasping at attentiveness, Kali reached for the words to respond to him, her voice almost a whisper;
"I couldn't give a damn about shame,"
