Eternal shadows. He'd heard those words before but never in the same sentence as Seppuku. Part of him refused to acknowledge it to be true. Seppuku was too strong to succumb to sleep. He wouldn't leave him alone like that. Not like that. No matter what excuse he came up to deny his sire's disappearance, it still came down to what remained of his logical side telling him that it was true, it had happened. Though the older man's decision had not left him completely alone, he couldn't help but feel as though he was. Toshiya took in a shaky breath and let out. No matter how devestating the news had been, he had yet to summon the tears that would release some of the tension building inside of his chest. Instead he was left watching the city below swirl through the thing layer of tears that had managed to gather. What light remained in his eyes was now caused by the flashing reds and blues of the patrol car pulling up in front of the building. Eight stories below, a group of people had gathered. Their mumuring waved from quiet to loud as the teen rocked precariously on his perch.
His rocking faltered slightly hearing the sound of someone approaching from behind. "Now...look here, son...."
Toshiya tilted his head up and stared at the stars overhead. "I'm not your son." He whispered. The soft spoken words were hollow. Once again, he began to rock.
"I know...look, whatever you're going through, we can talk about this...work it out." The steps neared. In just a matter of moments there was a large hand settling on the youth's shoulder. Toshiya's rocking stopped. His much smaller hand raised to overlap the appendage. At the same time, his head turned to look at the officer that had come up to talk him out of his attempts at suicide. If only he knew that Toshiya had no intentions of jumping before coming up....
The tiny man's hand tightened on the hand. His dead brown eyes frosted it over. "I don't want to talk about it." He hissed. Without a second though, Toshiya pulled on the man's hand sending him over the edge of the building. His eyes narrowed watching the moderately built man grow further and further away until finally the thud of flesh against metal could be heard. By that time, he was already twisting and placing his feet on the other side of the ledge. Toshiya stood once again, his hands smoothed over the black and navy blue corset he wore along with the black skinny jeans that clung to his hips. His knee high boots clicked sharply against the rooftop as he made his way to the opposite end of the roof where a fire escape was.
Without missing a step, he hopped over the ledge and down to the rickety platform. Slowly, he made his way down and through the alley managing to avoid the masses as he did. Once he was completely out of range, his steps slowed and his hand plucked a single cigarette from where it was tucked behind his ear. He lit it and took a puff. "I'll be here when you wake up. You will wake up." He muttered.

His hand raised to cradle the side of his head while the other cradled his cigarette between his pointer and middle finger. Another drag was taken filling his lungs with the once calming substance known as nicotine. At one point it would have been enough to calm him to the point of thinking clearly once again. Not tonight. A shakey exhale out and the cancer stick was lowered to his side to be held between his slightly trembling digits. The hand cradling his head slid down to wrap around his torso as he continued down the alley way. Alone. What was a shattering Toy to do? The cig was raised again as he continued on his way only to falter upon hearing an unfamiliar voice. 'Ya, Hyung! Light-ah?'
Jerkingly, he turned his head then the rest of his body toward the sound. A man. Toshiya's head canted to the side taking in the other's features. Asian of some kind. If his head had been in a clearer mindset maybe he could have clarified that he was Korean. For now, the detail meant nothing.
Light...ah the unlit cigarette.
Toshiya's gaze flickered to the other's lips briefly then down. The lighter in question was pulled from his pocket once more. "You want this?" He asked holding it out so that the silver casing glinted. "Come get it."

he immediately asked when he was at arms length away. Jung-Hwa’s gaze flickered as he took a good look at the man before finally resting on the lighter. There were only two ways a man like Jung-Hwa dealt with lighters: either he took it from an offering hand or it was lit for him; but never did he hold out his hand. It was such a childish habit to await open-handed for things, and it had been his experience growing up that most times his expectations were unfulfilled and his hands remained empty. The best way not to give people the chance to disappoint was not to look expectant, that way disappointment could be easily dealt with beneath a lax exterior. [/ul]

The movement of the cigarette pack caught his attention. His doll like eyes followed the movement of the container from over the man's knuckles to his back pocket. Toshiya's gaze lifted to stare past the other as he approached. The lighter was turned his hand in slow circles until he found its usual position in the teen's hand. Only then was it lit. The small flame danced about calling Toshiya's gaze from the stranger. 'You Korean?'
"No." The answer was short, bland at best. Such irrelevant information for the task at hand. What had been the task anyways? Ah, the light. He had to lend this man his light. A moment of unwarranted panic raced through him before disappearing. This was his light. No one else's. No one was going to touch it. He swayed slightly wrinkling his nose. "I take it you are." With that said, he raised the lighter to the end of the other's cigarette. He watched with growing impatience for the cancer stick to take on its own glow. Once it did, he let the flame go out.
"There...you have your light, you can leave....no no no...not yet. Who are you?"

wanted it, not because he was told) when he was beckoned back. Having stepped forwards and to the side, he now had to turn his head sideways to make eye contact with the stranger. Who was he? Well, he was Park Jung-Hwa, but that sounded like too simple of an answer. He was an unassuming Korean gangster who had come to this city to flee the Tōa Yūai, one of the many Yakuza clans. This man was an honest man (as honest as killers and swindlers could go anyways), and a very bored vampire as far as the nonliving came. Cocking his head to the side, Jung-Hwa lowered his gaze down the length of the other’s body before making eye contact once again. Moistening his lower lip, he inhaled unnaturally in order to speak: “Who asks?”It had been a quote he retained from some action movie or another, the tacit meaning only understood because of the Chinese subtitles included. After his encounter with Kari, the Korean had vowed to learn more English in order to communicate better with the natives. A local video store down the road of his new residence catered to the inhabitants of Chinatown, permitting those who could not fully comprehend the foreign movies to lease them out with pre-set subtitles. It was one way of spending the days, but it too had become too much of a habit to retain his interest. [/ul]

His eyes flickered watching the man's neck extend for a brief moment. A familiar ache went through his teeth signalling that he was indeed hungry. Bad boy, Seppuku told you to eat regularly. Toshiya averted his attention elsewhere listening to his conscience which still sounded alot like Mr. Bear. He felt the corners of his lips tilt slightly. At least he still had the annoying possessed toy. Figment or not, it bought comfort to know that he wasn't entirely alone. Toshiya placed his cigarette between his lips again. He used the free hand to tuck stray strands of his hair behind his ear. He hadn't bothered with styling it just like any other day since he'd began detox. Thoug he wasn't nearly as bad as he was at first, he still tired easily or grew irritably enough to almost shave himself bald on some days.
The teen looked to the other man once more watching as he stepped forward and to the side. Taking a side step of his own, he moved out of his way. After all, he had been the one to so readily dismiss him. Why? Because everyone left eventually. Better to have it happen while he knew nothing of the other...right? Then why did you ask his name? Huh? Huh? Huh?
'Who asks?' Toshiya had begun to answer the voice in his head aloud when he heard the question. Was that some round about way of asking him who he was in return? "I do.......Toshiya." He said making sure to bring his voice a little higher than a murmur this time.

he questioned in the foreign tongue, lips pressing together as he inhaled the nicotine-laced smoke once more. Glancing off in the direction he’d come from, where the lights of police cars were refracting off the buildings, he shifted his weight onto his other leg and clutched his belt. Perhaps it would be best for him to offer up some information before he asked any more questions. In the same exhaled breath with which he released the smoke from his lungs, he added in heavily-accented English: “I am Jung-Hwa” [/ul]

Toshiya took another step away from the other man. While the stranger stepped backward and turned to face him, the teen looked up at him. As always he was shorter and probably weaker looking. Oh well, that couldn't be helped. He shifted on his feet a little finding a comfortable spot in the boots to settle the heels of his feet again. 'You are Japanese?' He perked hearing the other speak again. This time in Japanese. "Yes I am." He answered and fell quiet again. In the distance he could the sirens once again. No doubt the officers were looking for their would be suicide victim. Humming softly, Toshiya took another step in the direction that he'd been heading before being stopped by the man.
'I am Jung-Hwa.' Toshiya tested the name out before nodding briefly. "Its nice to meet you Jung-Hwa." He bowed his head then straightened again. We should go. Come ooooon I'm huuungry. Toshiya's head tilted. His eyes shifted to the lights in the distance than back to Jung-Hwa. "You're not from here are you?" He asked as he placed his cig between his lips once more. He took a drag and held the breath in. As he did this, he began to walk again.
"I have to go this way. Will you come with me....so we can continue talking?" Though his tone was hopeful, his eyes never changed.

[/ul] Well, why not? It would be the first time in a long time that this vampire would be able to converse in a familiar tongue with someone new; it wasn’t a dislikeable idea. With a grunt and a meagre nod, Jung-Hwa shifted his weight and began to walk alongside the other, his longer strides allowing him to catch up with ease. Casting a side-glance down at Toshiya, he brought the cigarette back up to his lips before speaking once more. “What happened back there?”Even though it was not his mother tongue, Jung-Hwa had spent sufficient time in Japan to consider it just as significant as Korean. Turning his gaze back to the path ahead of them, he pondered where he was being led; he decided not to ask, quite content with being relieved of finding his own entertainment for the night. The cig hanging between his lips was left to hang as he laced his fingers behind his back. The digits curled loosely playing with the silk ribbons that secured his corset in place. His pace was slowly despite the situation at hand or maybe it wasn't. Toshiya had only killed three times in the three years he'd spent as a vampire. The police officer from earlier had been the first he'd killed just because he could. Maybe there wasn't a cause to run at all. He tilted his head in thoughts. His vacant eyes had settled on the ground ahead of him. 'What happened back there?' Toshiya shifted his attention to Jung-Hwa. "I killed someone....threw him off of the roof." He answered honestly. He added as he recalled the man's words.
Toshiya inhaled deeply once he finished answering the man's question. The end of his cig glowed bright as the suction coaxed it to burn faster. By the time the youth exhaled it had burnt almost to the filter. Toshiya plucked the spent cancer stick from his mouth and flicked it off to the side.
"So what are you doing in an alleyway alone?" He couldn't smell any blood or see anyone walking down the path. Perhaps the man was just taking a short cut. His attention left Jung-Hwa to look ahead of them once more finding that they were reaching the end of the alley.

he replied in English, turning his head briefly to catch the other’s eye before glancing out ahead of them and continuing in a tongue that was more familiar. He didn’t mind being spoken to in English, it was a language far easier to understand than it was to manipulate when expressing one’s thoughts. “The person who created me is no longer where I can find her, and I have no family of my own... so I am bored,” he took a swig of the cigarette and exhaled as they reached the end of the alleyway, “I feed and I sleep, it is very boring...”In fact, he should probably feed before dawn crept up on him within the next hours. Still, that would only satiate his thirst, not his intellect. He needed a challenge. Eyeing Toshiya, he wondered what challenge might ensue if he turned on him; but he pushed the passing thoughts out of his mind as he realized this new found familiarity was not something he wanted to lose just yet. Setting the cigarette between his lips, he took one last drag and reached up to extinguish the glowing tip with his thumb and index. Ah, pain, oh how did he miss it. [/ul]

Toshiya watched out of the corner of his eye for the man's reaction somewhat warily. If it were Seppuku he were dealing with, the man would have probably applauded him. Finally the little killer his sire wanted him to be...all too late though. He ahead once more. Whether he'd met the type of guy that would reprimand a stranger for being a murderer or not, he didn't care. There was only one person who's opinion mattered was sleeping now locked away inside his tomb. Toshiya's gaze swept from side to side as he decided which direction he wanted to go. Right. He turned and was greeted by the sight of a small amount of people enjoying the great outdoors. Once again, he felt his fangs ache. 'I am avoiding drama' The young man hummed softly upon hearing Jung-Hwa's words. Toshiya met the other's gaze briefly. "Hm, is it working?" He questioned. Unconsciously, he kept his sentences short and simple. Realizing this, he shook his head. His first impulse was to apologize. Just because the other man's english wasn't the best didn't mean he had to speak to him different. Even with that logic, Toshiya kept his mouth shut. When he did speak, it was once again in Japanese.
"How long have you been in this city?"
His steps slowed upon hearing about Jung-Hwa's creator. It would appear that they had something in common other than their species. Resuming his steps, Toshiya loosened his fingers from behind him. He wondered if he would be reduced to what this man had been. Feeding and sleeping... That didn't seem ideal at all.
"I don't have much of a family either. My sire has chosen to sle...." His eyes stung and his throat constricted causing his words to falter. "He's chosen to sleep but he'll wake up....he has to." His brows furrowed briefly. The vacant feeling that had settled in his chest sparked slightly adding a sense of...anger. Why did Seppuku have to sleep? What about him? He hadn't even gotten the chance to say good bye or try to talk him out of it. As his thoughts ran rampant, he began to grind his teeth. A sharp breath was taken in then let out slowly.
You should eat. Yes you should before you go crazy...er. Such a brilliant bit of advice. "I'm hungry. Are you hungry? We should eat." As if the almost mental breakdown never happened, Toshiya's steps quickened as he began the process of finding a proper 'volunteer'.

Toshiya was proving to be a fine guide and good company so far, so Jung-Hwa had no qualms about following his lead as long as he was graced with answers. Reaching for his nape, a dull ache setting there due to an injury sustained hours earlier, the Korean vampire glanced at the Japanese male. “What... do, you mean, sleep?”[/ul]

Toshiya nodded upon hearing the man agree to finding something to eat. His steps picked up and his gaze became more focused as he caught sight of a few people heading their way. A lovely couple. Happy couple. The youth smiled an empty smile as he watched them. Part of him wanted to let them go. He could remember a time when he was happily in love with someone. The relationship had been about as strong as piece of tissue paper but still...he could remember that happiness. His hands laced in front of him tight enough to turn his knuckles white. "Eternal sleep...to sleep forever....only Seppuku won't sleep forever. I won't let him." His hollowed voice took on a singing lilt as he said this. He would allow his sire the sleep he, himself, though the older pire needed. Then he'd wake him. Selfish? Possibly. Inconsiderate? Who cared.
He glanced to the taller male. "Why can't you reach your sire? Hmm?" He questioned. A succour seemed to be a proper method of finding a missing sire. Unless said sire had a spell keeping the spell from working.
While he waited for the man's answer, he turned his gaze to the couple slowly closing in on them. They were facing each other arms jerking and voices raised. An argument. Oh dear. Toshiya watched the drama unfold and end with the male walking away. "Poor dear..." He cooed as he watched the woman begin to cry. Perhaps he'd put her out of her misery.
